Shanti Halu Om!
Ok, so Sharath did leave yesterday L Pretty bummed that I didn’t get to say goodbye to him…It’s alright though – I’ll just have to wait till I see him next year!
Practice this morning was good – but my energy levels have been uber low the last week or so…I’ve noticed it throughout the whole day – I’m just sorta here, not really energetic at all like I usually am. I’m sure it is just because of all the drama that’s been going on recently, and being in limbo in regards to a place to live. I certainly hope, however, that I have more energy next week! It’s no fun being totally drained while here in Mysore. Luckily, though, this extremely busy week is coming to a close. Not only have I been dealing with the whole ‘place to live issue’ but have also been finishing up my website and business stuff. And today is the ‘grand opening’ of Shanti Halu Om! If you wish take a moment and check out the site! www.shantihaluom.com
I will spend the better part of the day contacting all my friends and students to let them know about it and send them the info. Then I have to go pick up a few more finished products, get pictures, and mail them off to my partner in the states. And, I also agreed to help a friend with her website for a bit today. So, before I know it Thursday, November 9th will be total history….Busy days….Busy busy days…And tomorrow is much the same….
After led practice tomorrow I’ve got to rush to Tina’s and shower and get ready for the Puja at the Rashinkar Mansion – the official grand opening (house warming) party is Saturday night but they’ve invited a few people to the Puja ceremony. It will begin at 9am and go till about 3pm!!! And get this; I will actually be wearing a Sari for the Puja tomorrow!!&!%%!$! I know, I know, I am in total shock myself. Don’t know quite how it came about…Mrs. Rashinkar was giving me the details yesterday and I told her I don’t have any nice clothes right now as they are all stored away till I move in on Friday! She said I could wear anything I wanted but I know everyone will be wearing Saris…So, outta my own mouth I asked her if the tailors would have enough time to make a blouse for me if I wore a sari. “SURE!” I know it made her day…So she helped me pick out a Sari, Govind took my measurements, and that is that. I will meet them at my new abode a little before 9am and she will give me the Sari and blouse and show me how to put the darn thing on! Gosh – I never thought I’d see the day!
After the Puja tomorrow I can move in! I just can’t wait – finally some peace and organization and peace, and oh yeah, peace. I very much look forward to finally feeling ‘grounded’ a little bit before I leave India. I know I’m gonna love my new place – all three weeks that I am there…No worries though b/c it will be here waiting for me when I return next year…And I will get to store all my stuff there with no worries about that…And my good friend will be taking good care of it until I return. Everything seems to fit nicely into place….Just want tomorrow to get here now! Impatient – I know!
On a side note about the shala – it’s very sad these days for me b/c SOOOOO many of the people that have been here since May 1st with me are leaving or have already left. Just this week alone I’d say about ten of the ‘ole crew’ have departed and pretty much all the rest (except for me) will be gone by the end of next week….It’s so sad…I really haven’t gotten to know anyone new since I returned from Thailand b/c I’ve been busy, wanted to keep to myself, and didn’t really care to go through the whole “Mysore intro” with tons of new people who’d only be here a sort stint of time. And I’ve been quite content to simply know the people who have been around as long as I have. But they are all leaving…So the last three weeks I’m here I’ll pretty much be the only one left outta the long termers….I’m trying to be sure to get people’s contact info so we can stay in touch – but as the week as slipped past me I’ve definitely failed to do so with a handful of people…Do hope to run into them again next year.
Well, I do hope you all have a fabulous day! It’s quite rainy here in Mysore this morning – but no complaints here – the rain cools this city down a bit! I know it’s getting colder and colder in the states…Try to stay warm! I’m a bit nervous about coming home to the cold in December after so long in such warm climates…I guess I’ll just be freezing with you guys soon
Miss you all so very much and counting down the days till I can see you again!
Om Shanti,
Krista
