Chillin at the Sanctuary
As I sit at the restaurant at the Sanctuary I’m writing in my daily blog…Well, you may not think there is anything special about that but there is…Not that it’s b/c I am at A RESTURANT but b/c this one is such a cool place to hang out and I haven’t been able to much since I began my fast on the 28th. This place is gorgeous, with tables and chairs spread throughout and hammocks and short tables to sit on the floor – always with tons of interesting foreigners hanging around there’s always music playing, there are games here to play, and the view of the beach like two feet away is amazing. I’m really glad we opted to stay here till the 9th b/c it will be so nice to enjoy the beauty of this place now that I’m not fasting. We’ll get to practice at their awesome shala in the mountains everyday, lie out and swim, eat at their healthy restaurant, take advantage of their spa in a more appreciative frame of mind, and be able to really spend some enjoyable time together.
To speak of this beach, it is beautiful! The Sanctuary rests in a little Bay called Had Tien…No more than 100 feet long, the beach consists of pure white sands, the tide is always low and the water always calm. Enormous rocks jut out from both sides and overpower the view with their beauty. People are always lying out on the beach or swimming in the ocean, and there is a never ending supply of water taxis coming in and out of the bay calling “Had Drin, Had Drin!” It is simply amazing here!
Kwang’s still asleep, but I couldn’t lie in bed any longer so I got up, cleaned the room, showered, and now I’m up at the restaurant drinking a cup of hot decaf coffee. I know I know decaf is better than regular coffee because of the number of additives that are put in it to take out most of the caffeine but I’d like to reintroduce caffeine slowly into my body and the cup of decaf I had yesterday kicked my butt!
