Fasting, Day Two
Well, made it through two days of fasting – go me! Actually today was much easier than yesterday (but the result differ from person to person b/c I have been told by several different people that day 2 or 3 or 4 would be the worst…And so far I disagree).
I can’t say I have done anything really productive today, but then again it is a bit hard when you feel like a lifeless blob all day! I woke up at 7am to take my first clay shake and then went right back to bed till 8:30am when I had to take my first herbs. Then I laid down yet again till about 9:30am. At ten I went to the wellness center to drink my second shake and at about 10:30am had my first colonic of the day. Then I talked Kwang into getting a facial with me!!! It was quite lovely. After that I laid on the beach for a little while, although today has been a very overcast day – so I didn’t really get any sun, but I pretended that I did. At 1:00pm another shake, followed by my herbs at 2:00pm and then the really nasty lymph shake at 2:50pm. And yeah, another shake at 4pm – but Kwang and I walked up the hill to the shala soon afterwards to practice. I was really surprised I was able to do the entire Primary series today, I felt really good for the first half of practice, but my energy definitely started to dwindle soon afterwards. I sort of made myself finish up but was happy I did. I know that some days will be easier than others with regards to the practice, and I know there is no way I can do anymore than Primary series – even backbends are nearly impossible for me. Oh well, it will be totally worth it in the end.
I just finished my last colonic of the day, had my veggie broth, and am now sitting at the restaurant with Kwang so he can eat dinner. The first time I’ve been here since I began my fast. Kwang is gonna have a salad off the cleansing menu for dinner, because he decided today that he too wants to fast. He’s gotta do a pre-fast cleanse for two days at least (consisting of fruit and raw veggies only). He has really been on the fence about it all day but he was the one who said he wanted to do it. If he does do the fast he’ll only do the five day fast, which is much like the seven day fast minus two days of course and only one colonic per day. I think he’ll follow through, and if he does I’ll be really proud of him! It will be really good for him physically and mentally, and it will be really nice to do this together.
Well, till tomorrow….
Om Shanti,
Krista
