Delhi Belly :(

I must say I am surprised I am still alive!!!  Sunday evening I began feeling quite ill, with a tummy ache and horrendous heartburn.  My body felt very achy and tired right before I went to bed.  I have felt similar pains before and I figured I would feel much better come morning – but I just wasn’t so lucky…I woke up a number of times throughout the night with terrible pains in my belly, body aches, and nausea…Around 3:30am I woke up and ran to the restroom – I began violently vomiting…It was truly the worst feeling…Kwang ran into the bathroom to make sure I was Ok…Soon afterwards I returned to bed, only to wake up an hour later and do it all over again.  By that time it was close to 4:30am and I actually contemplated the thought of going to practice, but soon dismissed it as I started to get ill from another extremity…This continued for the duration of Monday.  Kwang kindly went to the store to get me Orange Juice, the only thing in the entire world that I wanted!  A little later Andrea called to see if we could meet today for Acupuncture, instead of Tuesday as we had planned.  I explained to her that I was quite ill and she suggested that she come to my house and do some points to help relieve body ache, nausea, etc.  So I agreed, as I was willing to do anything to relieve some of the pain I felt.  She came by and did some different points on my feet, arm, and belly.  I felt so uncomfortable and cold; she told me she wouldn’t keep them on as long today as she usually does.  After a bit she took them off and left.  I then fell back to sleep…The remainder of my day is quite hazy, I fell in and out of sleep, to and from the restroom, in and out of sleep, etc. etc…A little later Kwang went to the pharmacy and got me some medicine to relieve my body aches and also something to help me sleep.  I believe the body aches started to get better but I can’t say my sleep was any deeper, as I maintained a relentless cycle of sleeping briefly and waking briefly…

I woke up around 6:30am this morning – totally aware of things for the first time in a while.  I got sick and then laid back down to bed till 8am when I finally woke up for good.  I somehow got myself in the shower and cleaned myself up a bit.  Then I got dressed and managed to get Kwang up so we could go get something very light to eat (as I was determined to make to make it to Guruji’s birthday celebration, even if it killed me).  We made our way to the Mysore Mandala where I managed to get down a bowl of porridge and some fruit.  We then headed to AYRI to witness the Puja that was to begin at 10:30am.
