Two Days off!!

Ok, I’ve been a little slack with my blog the last few days but alot of stuff has happened.  I did my third acupuncture session this morning with Andrea.  It is really powerful stuff that I totally suggest to anyone.  On Thursday she did the back side of my body – she was able to focus on my stomach via my back, but we opted to do it laying on my tummy b/c I also need a lot of work on my left shoulder.  She put tons of needles in that shoulder and I felt a lot of activity there the remainder of the day after my session.  I can’t say that I feel like it is healed by any means, but that, like my tummy, has been a chronic problem for as long as I can remember.  So that too will take quite a few sessions and a lot of work on my part in order to heal.  Today she worked on my tummy some more and explained to me what the points were related to.  I had three needles in each leg and each one related to either my spleen or tummy and also helped to get my chi moving.  She placed one on each forearm and said that spot directly related to constipation; the one she placed in the crease of each arm related to the large intestine.  Then she put four needles in my tummy and explained that each of the selected spots related to my small and large intestine, movement of chi, and digestion.  Such interesting stuff – I am really looking forward to learning more about acupuncture and holistic medicine…With each passing day it intrigues me more and more……

Update on Dell….Was told on Wednesday I would get a call from the ‘higher authorities’ at 10pm my time that night – guess what???  Never got a phone call….Are you surprised???  I got an email from the lady I spoke to on Thursday and she said she nor the ‘higher authorities’ were able to call me becuase they were only able to dial numbers to America (hum,,,,,,,,) but she said that she could see that these ‘higher authorities’ sent me an email but could not see the contents of the email – she asked if I was happy with the resolution they offered and if not to respond to her email and she would forward it to her bosses.  Well, I emailed her back and let her know that I had not gotten an email from anyone at Dell other than her – and I waxed happy (in a nice way) about how insane this has been and how I am a customer with a valid warrenty, etc, etc, etc,… and I really need some help and a resolution to this problem.  Well that was Thursday and I am still waiting to hear back from her or someone….I know everyone has already told me to give up on this issue and just let it be…I am close to that for the time being, at least till I return to the states anyway, but I just feel like there is a simple resolution to this problem and if I persist I will find it.  Oh well, I feel like I have done all that I can and if this is how it will be – then so be it….My warrenty is good till 2008 so I can fix it whenever it is I return back to the states, but that means I am without a computer for the next several months that I am traveling and that really puts a damper in a lot of my work, my writing………………………………………….

So practice was really good on Thursday, and outta this world on Friday.  Gotta say that even though my tummy wants to be a bother, I am not letting it put a damper in my practice.  I am totally loving my yoga here and feel that it is evolving in so many ways.  For those of you who don’t do yoga, please understand that it’s not just a physical form of movement – it is so much deeper than that, if you choose for it to be!  I guess the easiest way to think about it is a form of moving meditation.  A time each day you have for you where you do move your body and work to keep it healthy and strong, but also a time when you try to focus on stillness of mind – and the movement of body helps create a stillness of mind.  I fell in love with this practice immediately, and I am reminded each and every single day why I love it and continue to grow a deeper respect and apprecaition for it.  It is special, it is powerful,it is wonderful, and it is something that is all yours – but something that brings benefit to everyone in this world – not just because it makes me happy and thus makes those around me happier ;) but if you believe in chi/prana/energy than you can understand that the prana you create during your own practice is a positive form of energy – and that positive energy then exists in the world and brings benefit to all – through its pure existance, and b/c it helps counter balance all the negative energy in the world…..OK enough of that – sorry I go off on tangents sometimes….

So the new moon is tomorrow and that means two days off this week from practice.  I would usually be not to happy about two days off….But I must say I really am beginning to understand the importance of taking rest during the new and full moon.  I didn’t used to respect the moon days and would practice anyway, but I have been respecting them since I’ve been in India, and the longer I stay here the more aware I am becoming to my own body.  With each passing day this week I have felt a little tighter, a little more tired, a little more OFF; and I THINK I can attribute that to the coming new moon – as it is really dumb to think that the body is not affected by the moon.  Saturdays are always days off and today was quite nice – I was looking forward to this day off for about a week now ;) but I am really interested to see I how feel tomorrow and even more interested to see how I feel on Monday with the new moon behind me.

Tomorrow will be a very, very relaxed day as I have absolutely nothing I have to do….Wow, that feels strange to write – but I don’t have anything to do.  No appointment, no practice, no class, no trip to bangalore, no nothing.  I will spend the day reading, writing, and eating :)

Speaking of Bangalore, Kwang and I will have to make Another trip there this coming week though to pick up my computer from Steller Information Systems (they were not even able to get my hard drive outta my computer, let alone recovery any of my data – needless to say it will be one of two totally wasted trips to that really polluted city).  We were gonna go this past Tuesday but just could not bring ourselves to make the trip, then thought about doing it Friday but opted to leave it to this coming up week instead.  I think we have decided to head out there on Tuesday after practice and my acupuncture session.  We’ll likely take the bus there (the only way we have not yet made our journey to Bangalore as we have taken a taxi there and back and done the train), but we will hopefully take the 6:15pm bus home.  I look forward to getting that out of the way once and for all.  And who knows, if I am really really lucky then Dell will contact me via email and tell me that they are sorry they have put me through hell and back and are gonna send me a hard drive (doubt it but you never know).

On a little side note – the WORLD CUP!  Well, as an American I have to say I am a little disappointed that we are no longer in the game – but we just were not playing to par this year although we did have a strong team this year.  But I do feel badly for Kwang b/c he was really rooting for Korea and America – and both teams are now officially out of the game!  He seemed a little deflated this morning when I woke him to remind him I needed him to pick me up from my acupuncture session at 9:15am (I walked there but needed him to pick me up).  But, I must say that I am uber happy that Australia is still in the game and doing pretty darn good = since America and Korea are out – my new team is Australia -

I wish everyone a safe and happy weekend ahead – it is almost six pm my time, which means it is just the beginning of your Saturday in the US.  Make the most of your day and try to remember to smile as often as possible.  I miss everyone very, very much and look forward to hearing from you all soon.

Om Shanti,

Krista
