Respect The Sanskrit!

Yesterday was such an awesome day, despite the fact that I only got 2 1/2 hours of sleep!  I woke up at 4am to get ready for Led class, which was EXTREMELY challenging b/c every part of my body (from my hips down) was screaming at me – thanks to the two days walking 1,000 steps up to Chamundi Hill.  I am not complaining though – walking up Chamundi hill is such an amazing experience (so hard to even describe but there is definitely an energy there that is like nowhere else I’ve ever been – it’s like the rocks speak to you about their past).  Anyway, while practice was pretty hard, boy oh boy did I totally enjoy it – epecially considering the fact that moon day was friday so I haven’t practiced since last Thursday!

After practice Kwang and I went home and showered, I messed with the computer for a bit, and then we headed over to Shakti house for breakfast (haven’t eaten out for breakfast in a while so it was nice not to cook anything for a change).  I got my usual omelet and porridge with milk while Kwang bought the whole menu ;)   We sat with Peter and Rosie (couple from England who arrived about two weeks ago – they are also in our Sanskrit reading and writing and our Sanskrit chanting class).  Super awesome young couple – great energy, really nice, and totally down to earth.  Needless to say breakfast was really enjoyable.

Once we got back to the house, I spent the next few hours working on my travel writing, emails, my site, etc. etc. etc….Kwang was so good – he spent forever looking over the sea of Sanskrit consonants we had to get down before class at 5pm.  I stopped what I was doing about 4pm and started looking over the consonants and vowels.  Then, before I knew it, it was time to head over to the shala for Sanskrit class.  Class was really great as always!  I really enjoy the people, our teacher, and the material we are covering – and I Really Love that Kwang and I are taking these classes together.

At 6:45pm, as soon as class was over, Girish (our friend and a local Rickshaw driver) picked us up from the shala to take us to dinner – long story short, his friend made Linda’s awesome doors for her new house – and I am gonna make a page on my site for him to help him advertise his work, etc…So they both took Kwang and me out to dinner to thank us for everything.  It was quite nice, although I have to say I wasn’t a huge fan of the dish I selected.  But the resturant (or hotel as they are usually called here) was really beautiful, great atmosphere.

We made it back home around 9pm.  Kwang passed out straightaway, but I wasn’t so lucky.  I was finally able to hit the sack around 10:30pm!

Om Shanti!
